WHO WE ARE.
Based in St. Louis, Missouri, The Horseman Foundation is committed to expanding the knowledge and appreciation of 20th and 21st century African American art. The Foundation oversees the John and Susan Horseman Collection, a private collection of over 500 paintings, sculptures, and drawings by African American artists historically left out of the canon.
The Foundation regularly lends and donates artworks to museums across the country. It supports artists and scholars who seek to broaden the parameters of our understanding of Black and African American art.
